Hans Eijerkamp en Zonen with energy and consequence to the top.
Hans Eijerkamp (72) may be advanced in years, his racing pigeons keep him young in body and soul. From his 15th year onwards his life has been focussed on pigeons and furniture. At the age of 15 his father made him decide between chickens and pigeons, because keeping both was too much of a good thing. Hans Eijerkamp chose his pigeons and looking back this was a very good decision. At an early age Hans Eijerkamp already had one goal in mind: ‘being the best!!’ This drive was not restricted to his pigeons only but in the furniture business as well he wanted to become the largest and the best. Eijerkamp, nation’s life style inspiration, is now one of the main trend-setting furniture businesses of the Netherlands (more than 100,000 M²). His two sons Evert-Jan (43) and Hans-Jaap (42) were provided with the same instinct and were born with a pigeon in their hearts, so to speak. In addition to the demanding business activities, they put heart and soul into pigeon racing, which is a passionate hobby of both of them.
Because the business activities take up a lot of time and responsibilities a team of experts have joined them over the years. The Greenfield Stud races are held under two names: under the name of Hans Eijerkamp en Zonen, with loft-manager Piet Schrijvers, all flights with young birds. As well as all flights with old birds at short distance, middle distance and one-day long distance racing are raced. In overnight long distance flights only the flights with afternoon releases are raced. From the lofts of Lotte Eijerkamp, with loft-manager Gerard Boesveld, all flights including the one-day long distance races are flown. Together with Evert-Jan Eijerkamp the pigeons are prepared weekly to perform at top level. Together with general manager Henk Jurriëns, Evert-Jan Eijerkamp also selecting the breeding pairs carefully. These will be paired during the winter months to raise the existing quality to an even higher level. Parts of the breeding pigeons are cared by Anton Koster, who is originally a distinguished long-distance player. Export manager Arno Brouwer is the person who represents Hans Eijerkamp en Zonen worldwide to assist the fanciers in word and deed.
