Hans Eijerkamp and Sons; an impressive empire of top birds

Hans Eijerkamp and Sons have become a household word in de world of pigeon racing. Sensational results, on their own lofts Greenfield Stud in Brummen as well as at fanciers all over the world have made a big impression. The success-story of Hans Eijerkamp and Sons is like in a boy’s book; starting small and becoming the number 1 in the world . . .
 
When Hans Eijerkamp started with racing pigeons, he realised that the top could only be reached if the best birds there are were purchased. So very soon Hans went to Arendonk, as he knew the Janssen brothers were the proud owners of the best family of birds for races up till 700 km. In 1964 he got his first 5 original Janssens and at other lofts that had the original Janssens, birds were purchased too.

Eijerkamp-Janssen

The birds called ‘Oude Bange van 64’ and a direct daughter to the famous ‘ Merckx’ are the foundation birds of the own Janssen-strain. They are the parents of ‘Bange 780 duivin’, probably the best breeding hen Hans Eijerkamp ever had, and around this bird he started to build the strain Eijerkamp-Janssen. He completed the strain by purchasing Janssen-birds that listed top performances all through The Netherlands. One of these birds was ‘Famous 05’ -best middle distance cock of The Netherlands 1981- who turned out to be a wonderful breeder (especially when paired to ‘Bange 780 duivin’). From these 05-lines many more toppers moved to Brummen like a/o: ‘James Bond’ (best middle distance bird of The Netherlands 1984), ‘Glamourboy’ (1^st Nat. Etampes ’92 13,842 b.), ‘Wonderboy 05 and 06’ (2^nd and 4^th Ace bird of The Netherlands 1990), ‘Porsche Bond’ (Best bird in Amalgamation ’96, grandsire to 1^st Nat. Bourges 2001 winner) and ‘Golden Boy’ (1^st Nat. Orleans ’97 10,940 b.). All these birds proved to be great breeders as well!
The attribution of Janssen birds from different lines as the ‘Famous 05’-line made the strain Eijerkamp-Janssen complete. A bird from the lines of ‘Oude Bange van 64’ is ‘Goldrush’ (Best Ace bird of The Netherlands 1991). The lines of ‘Verbart 46’ were introduced by a/o ‘Wonderboy 05 and 06’, but also by ‘Loverboy’ (Best young bird in the world 1996). The Van de Flaes lines of ‘Ronaldo’ (6 x 1^st) and ‘Testarossa’ (6 x 1^st) gave the last minutes details to the super strain. Not to forget off course is ‘Generaal’, who was the number one
Racingcock at the late Wout Smeulders. One of the new stars in the breeedingboxes is superstar ‘Messi' winner   2^nd National Ace pigeon Short distance WHZB 2008 and 11^th National Ace pigeon Middle distance NPO in 2008.
