Lotte Eijerkamp, 1st National NPO Bourges
04/07/2009

For the last couple of weeks the colony of Team Eijerkamp has achieved remarkable results which made more or less all the ‘headlines’ in the pigeon media. Not surprising when you can pocket 4 times within the Top 10 National NPO on the 4 One-day distance races entered. Now they clocked the fastest pigeon of the entire convoy of participating pigeons at the loft of Lotte Eijerkamp from the National Bourges race.

We are not going to use the clichι that Team Eijerkamp needs no further introduction... they have  won nearly everything that there is to win over the years. Here just to mention the first National and NPO victories in this decennia;

• 1st National NPO Ruffec 2001  against 9,606 birds  – "Morticia"
• 1st National Munich 2001 against 2,874 birds  – "Lady Bambi
• 1st National Troyes Young birds 2003 against 10,281 birds  – "Catharina Amalia
• 1st National NPO Bourges 2004  against 10,040 birds – "Miss Antonia
• 1st National NPO Orleans 2006  against 14,285 birds – "Chι"
• 1st National Munich 2006 against 1,580 birds – "Sylvie
• 1st National Blois 2007 against 5,963 birds – "Lady Blois"
• 1st National NPO Bourges 2009 against 7,600 birds   – “Michelle”

Lotte Eijerkamp clocked her first pigeon, a two year old widowhood hen, at 15h37 from a distance of 620,066 km which meant a velocity of 1272,71 m/m. With this she won the first national NPO with a two m/m lead on the second prize winner. The winner “Michelle“ is a late bred of 2007 who only was trained up to 80 Km in her year of birth. As yearling she was raced as Non and in this she won a few prizes. This year she was transferred into the widowhood section and after she was paired in the middle of January she raised a pair of youngsters before she was put on the widowhood system. In the short-distance she won 9th Duffel against 8,792 birds before she was entered in the One-day races. She won a good prize from Orleans but misses from Chateaudun and Blois and therefore she was not one of the favourites for this race, She now really surprises the Eijerkamp Team being the fastest pigeon of this NPO race beating 7,600 entered birds in Amalgamation 8 GOU.

“Michelle“ was bred from a grandson of the “Zeppelin“ ( Koopman ) when mated to “Lady Gaga“, a great Van Loon breeding hen out of “Jonge Bazooka“ x “Silver Rolls“ - one of the best daughters of “Silver Shadow“. “Lady Gaga“ is also a half-sister of “Miss Antonia“, winner 1st Nat. NPO Bourges 2004 against 10,040 birds. “Lady Gaga“ is mother to several good pigeons, a.o. 1st Pommeroeul 3.890 birds, “Jamirav, 1st Ace pigeon One-day distance races in Amalgamation, 15th Nat. NPO Orleans 14,285 birds etc.

After "Michelle" it was took about 10 minutes before the next two pigeons arrived. Right after both pigeons were clocked 5 more hens arrived together and they were all clocked within 10 seconds. As the National NPO race in Amalgamation 8 always been divided in South and North the result only brings up the number of pigeons entered in both northern sections. The result of Team Eijerkamp NPO North against 3,672 birds is 1-10-11-17-18-19-20-21- 26 etc.

On the 4 One-day distance races following performances were achieved;

23-05 NPO Orleans (556 km) 7,332 birds 2-36-61-67 etc. 85/55 pr
08-06 NPO Chateaudun (564 km) 5,300 birds 3-11-13-18-33-43-49 etc. 83/52 pr
20-06 NPO Blois (611 km) 4,229 birds 1-2-5-6-10-11-14-16-27-32-33 etc.  78/52 pr
03-07 NPO Bourges (620 km)  3,672 birds 1-10-11-17-18-19-20-21-26 etc. 76/57 pr

In short, a new highlight in the now richly filled pigeon career of the Eijerkamp-colony, who are gradually presenting an honours list that can't be equalled anywhere. Not only with top performances, Provincial and National victories, Olympiad pigeons and Ace pigeons in their own loft but likewise the growing "book" of references of excellent performances and titles in other lofts, with the 'golden' Eijerkamp-blood at the basis! By Team Eijerkamp we no longer speak of a 'tree' with 'rich fruit’ but more of an 'orchard' that has produced 'countless rich fruit'!
