Racing pigeons at Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp
Dear sport friends,
Welcome to the inspiring world of the Eijerkamp family, where pigeon racing is not merely a sport, but a lifelong passion passed down through generations. At the heart of this story stand Hans Eijerkamp and his son Evert-Jan, together representing more than 125 years of dedication, vision, and expertise in the racing pigeon sport.
Hans Eijerkamp’s journey began in the 1950s. From modest beginnings, guided by an exceptional eye for quality and an unwavering belief in strong bloodlines, he laid the foundation for what would grow into the world-renowned Greenfield Stud in Brummen. Together with his son Evert-Jan, this passion developed into a true family legacy. In recent years, a new generation has joined the team with the arrival of Evert-Jan’s daughter, Fleur Eijerkamp, who is active as content creator and as part of the sales and marketing team alongside Henk Jurriens.
Over the decades, the Eijerkamp breeding lofts became internationally known for legendary bloodlines such as Janssen, Van Loon, Leo Heremans, and Leideman. At the same time, some of the most valuable treasures were bred within the family itself. One pigeon in particular holds a special place in Eijerkamp history: De Oude Bange. His influence can still be found deep within the pedigrees of many modern champions, including our ‘Luka Modrić’ and our World’s Best Pigeon ‘Zoe’.
In recent seasons, our racing lofts in Brummen and Laren have achieved numerous top results, highlighted by exceptional performances at both national and international level. ‘Zoe’ provided the absolute glamour by being crowned 1. Ace Pigeon Speed World Best Pigeon FCI 2024. For this achievement, she was honored in 2026 at the International Racing Pigeon Fair, commonly referred to as the Olympiad, in Dortmund. That same Olympiad saw also our ‘Olympic Evelyne’ and ‘Olympic Amber’ representing the Netherlands. All three hens were bred at Greenfield Stud in Brummen and raced with great success under the inspired leadership of Arnold Paalman for the Eijerkamp–Paalman combination in Laren. For Hans, this is a particularly emotional milestone: back in 1971, he already experienced the honour of an Olympiad pigeon with his legendary ‘De Olympiade Bange’.
The quality of Eijerkamp pigeons is not limited to our own lofts. Fanciers around the world achieve top results with descendants of Eijerkamp pigeons, both in traditional racing and in One Loft Races. Our bloodlines continue to excel under the most demanding conditions, producing winners and ace pigeons on an international scale. Exceptional performances in Africa, Southern Europe, and Asia further confirm the reliability, resilience, and competitive strength of the Eijerkamp strain. In 2023 our Beetle's African Dream became the most successful pigeon in history of Afrika Pro OLR. Tarzan Jane won in 2024 €50.000 by earning the title 1. Ace Golden Algarve OLR. In 2025 we won 2. Ace Pigeon 3x500 Avirings Derby Pro and winning 1. Final Race 1 509 km with Vasili Slovenian Dream. 2026 started again very successful for us with two very special pigeons winning: 1. Drop & 10. Place and 25. Place 540 km Final Pattaya Grand Prix 2026.
Back to the beginning of 2024, another milestone was reached with the purchase of the legendary ‘Geeloger’, 1. National Ace pigeon Allround Old and Yearlings KBDB 2023, from Erik Limbourg for the astronomical sum of €450,000. The impact of this exceptional pigeon was immediate: in 2025, three of his grandchildren already ranked 4., 9., and 15. Provincial Ace pigeon with the youngsters.
Since 2017, Oliver Sabol has been responsible for the daily care and racing management of the Lotte Eijerkamp Racing Team, with which we have achieved numerous successes, including twice Dutch Champion, once third, and three times fourth Best Fancier of the Netherlands (WHZB). From 2026, Oliver has relocated to our new accommodation in Pulderbos, Belgium, the former lofts of Belgian top fancier André Roodhooft. He is now responsible for the daily management and racing activities in Belgium, while André remains involved in the background, offering guidance and support.
In Laren, racing activities are led by Arnold Paalman, whose achievements include the exceptional hens ‘Zoe’, ‘Olympic Evelyne’, and ‘Olympic Amber’. Arnold also contributes greatly to the breeding program in Brummen, bringing passion and expertise to every aspect of the loft. A key figure behind the scenes is Rick Wuestenenk, our long-standing caretaker of the breeding lofts. His dedication and experience make him an indispensable part of the team. We are also proud of our youngest member, Michał Jagielski, who joined us years ago as a trainee and now fully manages the racing pigeons in Brummen. Together with Oliver, he has gained extensive experience over the years and also serves as our main contact for Polish clients. We are grateful for the additional guidance and expertise of our coach, Geurt Doppenberg, whose support has been of great value to our team in Brummen.
We would like to wish you every success in your pigeon racing journey. May it be inspired by Eijerkamp Racing Pigeons.
Yours in sport,
