This weekend brought another challenge as the race scheduled for Saturday had to be postponed to Sunday due to a persistent rain front along the flight path. Our anticipation built as we prepared for the new race day, knowing the pigeons would face varying wind conditions – starting with a northeast wind that would shift to the northwest later in the day.

A total of 57 pigeons were entered for this demanding race, with 25 from Lotte Eijerkamp and 32 from Hans and Evert Jan Eijerkamp. These birds have consistently shown their resilience and determination, and we were eager to see how they would perform under these conditions.

The day started early as we prepared for the release. The wind was expected to be a significant factor, challenging the pigeons to navigate and maintain their strength over the long distance. Despite these challenges, we were hopeful for a successful race and, most importantly, the safe return of our pigeons.

As the day progressed, we closely monitored the race, keeping our fingers crossed for favorable outcomes. The combination of the north and northwest winds required the pigeons to adapt their flight paths and utilize their endurance and navigation skills effectively.

We eagerly awaited the results, knowing that every race brings its own set of uncertainties and triumphs. Our pigeons have been well-prepared and trained for such conditions, and we trust in their abilities to rise to the occasion.
