Today marks the final race for the old pigeons, the National flight from Issoudun. Nearly 17,000 pigeons are participating in this prestigious event, making it one of the most anticipated races of the season.

The weather conditions are promising, with a favorable southwest wind prevailing over much of the course. This should make the challenge achievable for most of the pigeons, allowing them to perform at their best.

For a closer look at the action, you can watch a short video that captures the departure of the transport trucks from the Netherlands and the release of the pigeons in Issoudun.

For this race, we’ve entered the following numbers of pigeons:

  • Lotte Eijerkamp: 10 pigeons
  • Hans and Evert Jan Eijerkamp: 20 pigeons

We are eagerly awaiting their return and are hopeful for a strong performance from our birds.
