Grandchild Bor shines as 1. Ace Pigeon in Ostseerennen OLR 2024 for Bodo Schönrade
A delighted Bodo Schönrade from Friedrichsruhe, a small village in northeastern Germany, proudly announced that he is the breeder of the 1st Ace Pigeon in the renowned Ostseerennen in Germany. This prestigious One Loft Race, held for the 28th time in Neustadt, Holstein, near the Baltic Sea, attracted 2,222 pigeons from various European countries. Among them were six pigeons from Team Lindenhof, bred by Schönrade. One of these pigeons, DV01726-24-0302, went on to claim the title of Ace Pigeon after the three Hot Spot races and the Final, amassing a total of 342.67 points.
The parents of this Ace Pigeon were both acquired by Bodo in Brummen, following the advice of Henk Jurriens.

The Winning Lineage
The father of the Ace Pigeon, NL20-1249922NL20-1249922 ‘Vesalius’, is a distinguished cock boasting the prestigious Eijerkamp-Van Loon bloodline, with a touch of Heremans-Ceusters. ‘Vesalius’ is the son of New Abel"New Abel", who, as a young pigeon, secured 1. NPO Niergnies against 5,381 pigeons. New Abel"New Abel" himself is a grandson of the legendary pigeon Abel"Abel", who ranked 3rd National Ace Pigeon in the Netherlands as a yearling. The mother of ‘Vesalius’, ‘Dreamliner’, was also a high performer and is the granddaughter of the famousNieuwe Olympiade"Nieuwe Olympiade" and ‘Kanibaal Ché’.
The mother of the Ace Pigeon, NL23-9100970NL23-9100970, is a direct daughter of the super breeder Bor"Bor", whom Bodo acquired last year in Brummen. Bor"Bor" has since become one of the top breeders in Brummen, with his offspring and grandchildren dominating races. Bor"Bor" has sired or grand-sired numerous champions, including:

Now serving in the breeding loft, ‘Rapido’ has produced numerous winners and is now the grandmother of the 1st Ace Pigeon of the Ostseerennen in 2024.

Despite his age and physical limitations, Bodo Schönrade has continued to invest in top-quality pigeons from the Eijerkamp family. While he initially considered stepping back due to his health, his recent successes have motivated him to continue pushing forward.
