Happy Birthday to Hans Eijerkamp 91 years old A Lifetime of Passion, Vision, and Pigeon Excellence
Today, Hans Eijerkamp celebrates his 91st birthday and has spent more than 75 years devoted his greatest passion: the pigeon sport.
From his first steps in pigeon racing in the 1950s, Hans built a legacy that transformed Greenfield stud in Brummen into world’s richest racing pigeon breeding loft. With his son Evert-Jan, he developed the renowned Eijerkamp strain, rooted in legendary bloodlines like Janssen, Van Loon, Leo Heremans and Leideman.
Among the many pigeons that passed through his lofts, one holds a special place in his heart: De Oude Bange. This legendary bird was Hans’ favourite in his early years. What’s so special about this pigeon is that you will find him far back in the pedigree of now a days successfully pigeons like Luka Modrić"Luka Modric" and our World’s Best Pigeon: Zoe"Zoe".
Even at 91, Hans remains actively involved and celebrating every success of Team Eijerkamp. One of his most exciting investments of the last years was the purchase of our famous Geeloger"Geeloger". Hans truly enjoys this special cock and especially his beautiful offspring.
A true dream came true for Hans with the announcement that we will have two super pigeons at the Olympiad in Dortmund 2026. Hans recently welcomed these super stars back in the breeding lofts in Brummen: Olympic Evelyne NL22-8229086NL22-8229086 and Olympic Amber NL23-9099764NL23-9099764. In 1971 Hans had the honor of having his first pigeon at the Olympiad and yes this was "De Olympiade Bange".
