Team Eijerkamp-Wolf Achieves 11. Ace Pigeon and 50. Place in the Final of the Costa del Sol Winter Derby 2026
The 2026 edition of the prestigious Costa del Sol Winter Derby once again brought together some of the best pigeon fanciers from around the world. Competing against a strong field of 879 pigeons, Team Eijerkamp-Wolf achieved an excellent 50. place in the Final race (360 km), the Final took place on 14-02-2026. We are very proud of our pigeon Hurricane Thomas NL25-1096141.
In addition to this strong final performance, the same pigeon, our Hurricane Thomas, proved its consistency throughout the entire competition season. Over the course of 12 training flights and 5 official races, ranging from 140 km up to 360 km, Hurricane Thomas maintained a high level of performance and ultimately finished as 11. Ace Pigeon of the Costa del Sol Derby 2026, competing against a total of 2,079 pigeons entered by 229 fanciers at the start of the competition.
This outstanding pigeon once again highlights the strength of the well-known Eijerkamp × Thomas/Romario line bred by Simon Wolf, a combination that continues to deliver top performances in international one-loft races.
The pedigree behind this pigeon is particularly notable. It is a grandchild of the legendary Thomas 1 DV-01696-18-1 (Youtube Video) and a daughter of Romario DV-03801-17-911 (Youtube Video), combining two highly proven racing bloodlines.
On the dam’s side we find the exceptional Hurricane Leanne NL19-1527082, one of our top hens. She herself raced with great success while flying for Geurt Doppenberg, proving her quality not only in the breeding loft but also in competitions.
Once again, this result confirms the strength of the Eijerkamp-Wolf Golden Combination, where proven racing performance and carefully selected bloodlines come together to produce pigeons capable of competing at the highest international level.
