Eijerkamp pigeons dominate Top 10 in National Châteauroux
The Eijerkamp bloodlines once again proved their exceptional class in the National Châteauroux race. No fewer than four Eijerkamp pigeons and/or descendants finished in the National Top 10 against 36,386 pigeons. Team G.P.S. from Elshout claimed 2. and 4. National with pigeons bred from a direct Eijerkamp cock. Comb. Van Wanrooij from Geffen achieved 6. National with a grandson of the legendary 'Olympic Jozef', while at our own loft of Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp in Brummen, 'Aisha' secured 7. National against 36,386 pigeons.
Team G.P.S. wins 2. and 4. National with 50% Eijerkamp Blood
Team G.P.S. recorded arguably the finest result in the entire country. Racing from Elshout, Lex de Jongh and his team finished 2, 4- and 5- National against 36,386 pigeons. Both the 2. and 4. National prize winners were bred from 'Nardo' (NL21-1668909NL21-1668909), a half-brother to our famous 'Olympic Amber"Olympic Amber". 'Nardo' was bred in Brummen from 'Willem', a son of 'Murphys Law', paired to Semarian"Semarian", one of the very best daughters of 'Olympic Hans'. The 2. and 4. National winners were bred from 'Nardo' when paired to two different hens.
'Nardo' has now established himself as one of the foundation breeders at Team G.P.S. and is already the sire of two National Sector winners. Among his outstanding offspring are:

Comb. Van Wanrooij takes 6. National with a grandson of 'Olympic Jozef'
Comb. Van Wanrooij from Geffen achieved 6. National Châteauroux with NL25-2536504, a promising young cock that is a grandson of the legendary 'Olympic Jozef'. His sire is 'Dark Jozef' (NL22-8229983NL22-8229983), purchased by John van Wanrooij during the Golden Ten auction in Asten. As a young pigeon, 'Dark Jozef' already demonstrated his quality by winning 5. Provincial Dizy-le-Gros and 14. Provincial Morlincourt.
'Dark Jozef' was bred in Brummen from Olympic Jozef"Olympic Jozef" paired to the NPO winner 'Magic Loya'. 'Olympic Jozef' was the undisputed superstar at the Eijerkamp lofts in 2020, being crowned both 1. National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance and 1. National Ace Pigeon One Day Long Distance. Once retired to the breeding loft, he proved that his genes were pure gold. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have since won countless top prizes over distances ranging from 100 to 700 kilometres, including several National and Provincial victories. Today, his name appears repeatedly in the pedigrees of National Ace Pigeons and Olympiad Pigeons throughout the Netherlands.
Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp wins 1. Sector 4 and 7. National with 'Aisha'
One of Evert-Jan Eijerkamp's favourite hens, 'Aisha' (NL23-9100214NL23-9100214), added another remarkable chapter to her racing career by winning 1. National Sector 4 and becoming the 7. fastest pigeon in the Netherlands against 36,386 pigeons.
'Aisha' had already established herself as one of the country's elite racers by finishing 14. National Ace Pigeon One Day Long Distance 2025. Her impressive performances include:
- 3. National Orléans Sector 3 against 1,301 pigeons
- 37.National Issoudun against more than 32,000 pigeons
'Aisha' is a daughter of 'Dino', himself 3. Semi-National Ace Pigeon One Day Long Distance in the Noordelijke Unie. Her sire combines the renowned Verkerk and Janssen–Van Loon bloodlines, while her dam is another successful blend of Janssen–Van Loon, enriched with the famous Koopman blood.
With four positions in the National Top 10, Eijerkamp pigeons and their descendants once again underline the extraordinary quality and consistency of these bloodlines, continuing to excel at the very highest level of Dutch pigeon racing week after week.
