Comb. van Leeuwen clocking the two fastest from 6.447 pigeons

Last weekend was marked by extreme heat across Europe, creating challenging but fair racing conditions. The youngsters also faced a demanding test, but a few lofts truly stood out.

One of those lofts was Comb. van Leeuwen & Zn. from Reeuwijk, a village that has become synonymous with top-class pigeon racing thanks to renowned names such as Willem de Bruijn, G. & S. Verkerk and, in recent years, Comb. van Leeuwen & Zn.

They dominated the young bird race from Bierges (146 km) by taking 1. and 2. prize against 2,876 pigeons, while the winner also proved to be the fastest two of all 6,447 pigeons released.

Both pigeons were clocked in the very same second. The pigeon that was officially classified second, because of nomination ranking, NL26-8103775, was bred from a direct cock of Wil & Falco Ebben, a grandson of their famous 'Linus'. The dam is a direct daughter of master breeder Kees Krijnen from Huis ter Heide.

Although Kees Krijnen not competing himself, he continues to provide fellow fanciers with outstanding breeding pigeons, as once again demonstrated by this excellent result for Evert van Leeuwen. The dam is bred from a grandson of the legendary Bor"Bor" and Speedy Grizzle"Speedy Grizzle" bred out of  NL20-1249974NL20-1249974, while the mother is daughter of NL20-1249685NL20-1249685, herself a daughter of 'New Champion' and Eva"Eva"

Once again, these proven bloodlines have shown their exceptional quality, making the difference under difficult conditions and helping Comb. van Leeuwen & Zn. achieve another outstanding victory from Bierges.
