Tremendous success in OLR races with Eijerkamp blood

The summer months traditionally are dominated by the many One Loft Races held all over the world. This year again, descendants of Eijerkamp pigeons are making their mark. In both Portugal and Bulgaria, outstanding performances have been achieved in recent weeks, with descendants from proven Eijerkamp bloodlines playing a leading role.

Henrik Brinkmann: 2. Hot Spot 2 Golden Algarve against 5,141 pigeons with a grandchild of ‘Geeloger’

In 2025, Henrik Brinkmann from Marl acquired a son of the famous ‘Geeloger’ for his breeding loft and immediately managed to breed a very promising youngster from him in 2026. His DV02752-26-100 ‘Little Murphy’ won 2. Hot Spot 2 (170 km) in the Golden Algarve Race 2026 against no fewer than 5,141 pigeons.

Henrik Brinkmann, who focuses entirely on One Loft Racing, purchased a cock in Brummen directly from Geeloger"Geeloger" paired to Lady Hawk"Lady Hawk" and named him ‘Murphy’. In doing so, he secured a son from a pairing that combines some of the very best genes currently present in the Eijerkamp breeding lofts.

Last winter, Henrik paired ‘Murphy’ to his outstanding hen ‘Little Ornat’. This hen had already provided him with an unforgettable success in 2025 by winning 1. Final Derby Halkidiki over 505 km. She arrived with an impressive two-minute lead over the competition, defeating 362 pigeons. From the pairing ‘Murphy’ x ‘Little Ornat’, ‘Little Murphy’ was bred, and this young cock immediately showed his quality in the Golden Algarve Race by winning 2. Hot Spot 2 (170 km) against 5,141 pigeons

A fantastic result for Henrik Brinkmann and another impressive achievement for the descendants of ‘Geeloger’, who continues to establish himself as an exceptional breeder.

Asen Spasov wins extremely tough Derby Sliven Final

There was also a fantastic success with Eijerkamp blood in Bulgaria. The Final of Derby Sliven turned into a true test of endurance this year. Due to the extremely high temperatures, not a single pigeon managed to reach the loft on the day of release. It was not until the second day that the first pigeons were clocked, and it was Asen Spasov who eventually welcomed the winner of this extremely demanding Final. His BG26-70532 won 1. Final over 402 km against 311 pigeons.

Especially interesting for us is the fact that this winner was bred from the direct Eijerkamp pigeon NL24-8207687NL24-8207687 who was previously competed for Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp in the As Golden Race in Greece, where he won 117. Final over 390 km. After the One Loft Race, he was purchased by Asen Spasov in the auction and subsequently placed in the breeding loft. A decision that has already proved to be worth its weight in gold.

NL24-8207687NL24-8207687 is a son of ‘Triton’, a proven OLR breeder who is already sire to several top performers in different One Loft Races. ‘Triton’ himself also achieved several excellent racing results at the Eijerkamp lofts in Brummen. ‘Triton’ was bred from ‘Panamera’ x ‘Vanessa’. The latter is one of the valuable daughters of the legendary Nieuwe Olympiade"Nieuwe Olympiade" paired to Rosie"Rosie" Once again, we therefore find some of the most important bloodlines from the Eijerkamp breeding lofts behind this successful OLR pigeon. The mother of NL24-8207687NL24-8207687 originates through renowned OLR specialist Miha Sovic, meaning that proven One Loft Race quality is firmly established on both sides of the pedigree.

BG26-70532 proved throughout the entire Derby Sliven series that his victory in the Final was certainly no coincidence. He achieved an impressive series of results:

  • 5. Hot Spot 1 (105 km) against 1,013 pigeons
  • 47. Hot Spot 2 (155 km) against 901 pigeons
  • 10. Hot Spot 3 (190 km) against 685 pigeons
  • 4. Hot Spot 4 (105 km) against 509 pigeons
  • 5. Semi-Final (223 km) against 506 pigeons
  • 1. Final (402 km) against 311 pigeons

With these exceptionally consistent performances, BG26-70532 also appears to have an excellent chance to be honored with one of the best Ace Pigeon Derby Sliven 2026, a competition that started with 1,425 pigeons.

A fantastic achievement for Asen Spasov, but at the same time another wonderful international reference for the Eijerkamp bloodlines. The fact that descendants of Eijerkamp pigeons are performing at the highest level in both the Golden Algarve Race and Derby Sliven once again underlines the quality and value of these bloodlines in modern One Loft Racing.
