Today the Great Wall - Golden Top One Loft Race 2011 was held in China. On the One Loft Race 5000 pigeons were deployed along the Chinese entries including many from abroad. The pigeons were released in Quixain at 07.56 pm in sunny weather for a 500km race
Miss Tiny Panhuis - Hornstra from Meppel (NL) has the best youngster in 2011 in the national championships in The Netherlands. This hen called "Tiny" was bred from two straight Eijerkamp pigeons. Two years ago her parents were acquired from us.
On the 5th and 6th of November the 22nd international exhibition in Kassel pigeons was held. We were also present with a stand there again. These kind of exhibitions are an ideal opportunity to meet other fanciers. Many fanciers from various countries came to Kassel. We could hear lots of positive feedback about the quality of our pigeons which did us well.
This year we rewarded the three winners of the months in May till September monthly with a total of € 1,000 .-- vouchers. In the months October till April, every month we give away a top pigeon* to those who send us their references. This year we had 17 Teletext positions which can be added to our roll of honour. It again shows us, that with our approach and drive to develop a better racing pigeon, we are on the right path. The birds show that they have quality not only on our lofts but those of others.
Jan and Enrico Doldersum, Almelo, winners of the €500 cheque for September. Jan and Enrico were the winners because of their phenomenal performance on Bourges NPO in Section9: 1st and 2nd with offspring of their Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp pigeons. The 1st prize was won by “Miss Bourges”, NL11-1186828 who on her mother’s side is out of “Helena”, 2nd best young bird the Zutphen Area 2003 (out of “Chicago” a van Loon x “Miss Saigon” an Eijerkamp-Janssen).
Last week the book “the Kingmaker” was introduced by Pipa.be. This book was created through cooperation of the Canadian journalist and fancier Silvio Mattacchione and Nicolas Gyselbrecht, founder and director of Pigeon Paradise (PIPA) and describes the new high-profile pigeon strain De Rauw-Sablon. The big breakthrough in recognition of the strain is probably the total sales of the colony of the sadly deceased Pros Roosen. The revenue of this sale was approximately € 1.3 million with a record amount of € 156.000,= for the "Blauwe Prins".
Last weekend we had a visit from some sports friends from Croatia and Serbia. They were Ante Filipovic, Ertan Fetahovic, Marinko Sucic and Branko Gorupec, the organizer of the Zagorje Derby 2011. They left home late Friday night and drove 1600 km in order to admire the racing pigeons at the Brummen lofts,
The appetites in Brummen had not yet been satisfied and for the 17th !!!!!! time the name of Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp appeared on the Teletext. This time it was the 5th NPO Breuil le Vert (403 km) by a young blue hen NL11-1341455 bred out of “Fabulous” x “Michelle” (“Michelle” won the 1st NPO Bourges
The winner, “Tiny”, is a hen that did not race until the 4th race of the schedule (the first three races she was simply left home). When we look at her family tree it is not hard to see why this pigeon is an absolute winner. Her parents were obtained two years ago from Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp. “Ché Junior” is her father and he is out of “Ché” (an Eijerkamp-van Loon) x the mother to “Shilpa” (an Eijerkamp-Janssen). Her mother is “Mysterious Euro” out of “Euro” (Heremans-Ceusters) x “Mysterious” (Heremans-Ceusters).
This is the first year the one loft race in Zagorje has been organized. The race for young birds has attracted participation from various countries. A 12 x 5 meter loft is available for the youngsters in one of the most beautiful sections of Zagorje, Croatia in the area of Radoboj Krapina.
Again we hit the mark and won for the 17th time this season another Teletext position. This time we did it with the young birds from Breuil le Vert Clermont 403 km against 8,836 entries by placing 5th. The pigeon responsible for the 5th Teletext position is NL11-1341455 a pure Eijerkamp-van Loon.
