    Dave BULLEN & Son, New Addington –UK, winner of the €500 cheque for the month of June This partnership realized the International Victory on Pau 2011 against 8,601 pigeons. The English participants totalled 259 pigeons of which 4 were entered by Dave and his son. “Isla’s Rainy Day Boy” is the cock that brought the International Victory to England.

    Is Abel the successor to Chicago?

    The “Chicago” dynasty has played an important role in the development of the current Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp family. The foundation sire of this “Chicago” was purchased in 1997 from Staf Theeuwes, Poppel. Staf was a good friend of Louis van Loon and had very good results with the van Loon pigeons as the Theeuwes loft produced 4 Belgian National victories.

    The middle distance practically can’t go wrong for Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp. They again had a fantastic series of early prizes from Peronne (332 km). Of the 47 pigeons entered 28 finished on the result of which 16 were in the top 100!!!

    'Lady Elanora' again is the jewel of the loft because; from Bourges she has won her second Teletext placing of the current season. This yearling daughter of “Abel” x “Helen” has now twice placed in the TOP 10 positions in NPO National races. 3rd NPO Bourges against 3,381 pigeons 4th NPO Chateaudun against 5,000 pigeons

    Both Vivian and her brother at the top, 2nd and 4th NPO Nord Breuil le Vert

    So far this year “Vivian” has been hard to beat. After flying the 4th prize on Peronne a week ago, she won the 2nd prize on Breuil le Vert. Right behind “Vivian” her brother “Ted” won the 4th position on the same NPO middle distance race. Section 8 had upgraded Breuil le Vert to a Teletext middle distance race and this resulted in the name of H and J Eijerkamp being listed 3 times in the top ton against 5,848 pigeons, they were 2nd 4th and 6th on the Teletext.

    5 pigeons in the top 12 in Region 2 from Peronne

    The last weekend of June was not only the weekend of the National One Day Distance race for the Netherlands that same weekend Section 8 also had a middle distance race from Peronne. Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp had shipped 48 pigeons to the middle distance race which was postponed due to bad weather.

    16th National Blois against 24,774 pigeons

    The pigeons on the postponed release from Blois (611 km) were finally released on Sunday morning at 7:17 am. They were let go into a clear blue sky and a calm south east wind for what was the only National release of a One day long distance race. To this race Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp sent 63 widowhood hens, of which 19 were more than one year old and 44 hens born in 2010.

    Henk Jurriëns visits Bangladesh

    Bangladesh is overwhelmingly a flat land. Eighty percent of it is made of large flat areas in the river deltas of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers which have their origins in the Himalayan Mountains. Bangladesh has an area of 145,000 km2, which means this country has almost four times the land area of the Netherlands. Bangladesh a predominately flat country is almost entirely surrounded by India and borders in the extreme south east on Myanmar (Burma). During the rainy season (May to October) they frequently suffer from flooding.
