Gerrit van Eikenhorst from Hattem winning 1. Melun against 1,017 pigeons in Midfondclub Union Noord bred from a granddaughter Euro and Vetblauwe Jackpot

"Lady Melun" once again showcases her class for Gerrit van Eikenhorst from Hattem, with a splendid victory in the Midfondclub Union Noord from Melun. Normally, Gerrit is the person who writes about other winners for the pigeon magazine "Het Spoor der Kampioenen", but thanks to this victory, we, as Eijerkamp, want to give all the credits to our "flying reporter". Gerrit is a true enthusiast and hobbyist who can enjoy all aspects of pigeon racing and is always ready to lend a helping hand anywhere.

Gerrit van Eikenhorst was knighted in April this year as a Member of the Order of Oranje-Nassau, in recognition of his various activities within the Dutch pigeon sport.
 
Gerrit’s breeding loft houses several direct Eijerkamp pigeons, as well as pigeons from GPS and Leideman. The cross of Leideman against Eijerkamp pigeons showing excellent results in his loft. The best pigeon is "Lady Melun", NL20-1765328, which won 9 prizes this season, including the 1^st prize from Melun against 1,017 pigeons. Last year, as a yearling, "Lady Melun" already secured the 1^st prize from Bierges against 245 pigeons in the club, making it two first prizes on her record now. Additionally, she achieved 3^rd, 5^th, 10^th, 11^th, 13^th, 13^th, etc. in the club.
NL20-1765328 "Lady Melun" is a late youngster from 2021, ringed with an old ring, and only started racing in the natour of 2022. At the beginning of this season, she was raced on widowhood, and halfway through the season, she was raced on a nest. Her father is a cross between Leideman and Hooymans via GPS, while her mother NL20-1249877NL20-1249877 is a direct descendant from Eijerkamp. This Heremans-Ceusters hen is a granddaughter of Euro"Euro" and Vetblauwe Jackpot"Vetblauwe Jackpot", two absolute foundation pigeons in the Eijerkamp lofts in Brummen. The father of NL20-1249877NL20-1249877 is "Posseidon", a son of the same Vetblauwe Jackpot"Vetblauwe Jackpot" and Uniek"Uniek", while the mother, "Lieve Euro Duivin", is a daughter of Euro"Euro" and Hera"Hera". All these pigeons truly belong to the very best Leo Heremans pigeons in the world. Leo Heremans himself doesn’t say it lightly when he claims that Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp are the guardians of the Heremans pigeons worldwide.
