Descendants of Boela Bolt secure victory in Quievrain against 2,819 pigeons and numerous top positions for Team van de Pol from Opheusden
Team van de Pol, consisting of father Steven and sons Mark and Rik, have kicked off the young pigeon races this season with remarkable speed. The initial race unfortunately ended in a forgettable fashion with too many birds left behind. However, the team has since gained momentum and achieved impressive streaks in the lofts of Opheusden. They compete within Afdeling 8 in the Southwest flying area, and they have now become a force to be reckoned with among the top lofts, consistently showcasing a high level of H. and E.J. Eijerkamp bloodlines in their winners and lead pigeons, particularly through the descendants of Boela Bolt"Boela Bolt". Steven, who previously celebrated significant triumphs with his father, can now rely on the dedication of his two equally passionate sons, Rick and Mark. Their friend Dirk de Greef also lends a helping hand whenever needed. The flight from Quievrain resulted in a spectacular display of lead pigeons, with their top three pigeons ultimately securing the fastest positions against a total of 2,819 pigeons. Last year, they also claimed victory on the exact same flight, which sadly marked the final race Steven’s father witnessed before his passing shortly thereafter.
Dominance on Quievrain; 1, 2, 3 against 2,813 pigeons
On the Quievrain flight (216 km), Team van de Pol occupied the entire podium. They secured the positions of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 24th, 25th, 38th, 39th, 45th, 49th, and 56th against a total of 2,813 pigeons. The victory was achieved by NL23-9162527, a blue cock whose father is a direct Eijerkamp, NL22-8230225NL22-8230225, "Sir Boela Casino", a direct son of Boela Bolt"Boela Bolt", a seven-time 1st prize winner himself and crowned 2nd and 10th National Ace Pigeon Speed KBDB in 2018 and 2019. Boela Bolt"Boela Bolt" was paired with "Casino", a daughter of the renowned breeder Vetblauwe Jackpot"Vetblauwe Jackpot" crossed with "Capuchino". "Casino" achieved victories including 1st Chimay against 1,085 pigeons on the Eijerkamp lofts.
The 2nd prize was claimed by NL23-9162502, another 50% Eijerkamp pigeon. Its father, NL20-1318351NL20-1318351, was collected as an egg in 2020 and bred from "Seychellen", a son of Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans", mated with a daughter of Calisto"Calisto". The mother of NL23-502 is a hen obtained from the late Hans Boenders, a daughter of the same Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans" that shone under Hans Boenders care. After becoming the 1st Dutch Olympiad pigeon in Brussels, Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans" was transferred to the lofts in Brummen.
The 3rd prize was claimed by NL23-9162419, another 50% Eijerkamp pigeon, bred from NL20-1318252NL20-1318252, a grandson of the Nieuwe Olympiade"Nieuwe Olympiade" as well as Euro"Euro". NL20-252 was also obtained as an egg from Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp in 2020.
The 4th pigeon at Team van de Pol, securing 24th position against 2,819 pigeons, is a purebred Eijerkamp pigeon bred from NL21-1669499NL21-1669499, another son of Boela Bolt"Boela Bolt", paired with NL22-8230344NL22-8230344, a daughter of "Luka Modric".

* 22nd July, Tienen – 132 km: 65/35 prizes, including 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 18th, etc., out of 2,947 pigeons.
* 29th July, Bierges – 150 km: 63/37 prizes, including 3rd, 8th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 30th, 55th, etc., out of 2,923 pigeons.
* 4th August, Quievrain – 216 km: 63/53 prizes, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 24th, 25th, 38th, 39th, 45th, 49th, etc., out of 2,819 pigeons.
* 12th August, Niergnies – 259 km: 60/24 prizes, including 6th, 7th, 24th, 26th, 44th, 45th, 57th, etc., out of 2,507 pigeons.
As previously mentioned, the lofts of Team van de Pol have a strong Eijerkamp presence, and the investments made by Steven in recent years are now yielding fruitful results. Multiple Eijerkamp descendants have also performed impressively in the leading group on other races, as summarized here.
On Niergnies, the 6th prize was secured against 2,507 pigeons by NL23-9162524, bred from NL22-8694208NL22-8694208, a son of "Princes Andreja", who achieved two victories as a young pigeon on the Eijerkamp lofts. The 7th prize went to NL23-9099900NL23-9099900, a pigeon gifted as birthday present by Hans Eijerkamp to Mark, which is a grizzle grandson of Speedy Grizzle"Speedy Grizzle" and won 38th prize on the previous Quievrain race against 2,819 pigeons.

On Bierges, another grandchild of Boela Bolt"Boela Bolt" claimed 3rd prize against 2,923 pigeons. This NL23-9162452 is bred as well from "Sir Boela Bolt" NL22-8230225NL22-8230225, paired with a daughter of "Jet" NL16-1227509NL16-1227509, acquired from Arnold Paalman. We have already introduced you before "Sir Boela Bolt" as the father of the Quievrain winner.
On Tienen, NL23-9162495 secured 3rd prize against 2,947 pigeons, bred from NL21-1669879NL21-1669879, again a daughter of Boela Bolt"Boela Bolt".
