Team Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp Take 9th Place in the Ostwestfalen Derby 2026 Final

We have closed out the 2026 Ostwestfalen Derby One Loft Race in style, clocking an 9th place finish in the Final Race with our pigeon NL26-8475842NL26-8475842. The result caps off a strong season for us in this German One Loft Race.

The Final Race was flown over 428 kilometers, with the pigeons liberated on 6 September at 9:15. After roughly six hours and forty-four minutes on the wing, the first pigeons began arriving home. Our NL26-8475842NL26-8475842 crossed the finish line just two minutes behind the winner, with an velocity of 1052.9 meters per minute, a top-class result against a strong field.

  • Hotspot III (250km): 32nd place
  • Hotspot I (150km): 27th place
That consistency across multiple stages paid off in the overall standings, with the pigeon finishing as the 49th Ace Pigeon.

Top-Class Pedigree

The performance of NL26-8475842NL26-8475842 comes as little surprise given the pigeon's bloodlines. The father is NL21-1669815NL21-1669815 "Beauty Uniek," tracing back to the legendary Vetblauwe Jackpot"Vetblauwe Jackpot" as grandfather. The mother, NL20-1248685NL20-1248685 "Ivory," is a beautifully bred hen out of Captain Hans"Captain Hans" (son Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans") as father and Lady Hope"Lady Hope"as mother a pedigree built on proven Eijerkamp quality.

A Welcome Addition Close to Home
For Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp, taking part in the Ostwestfalen Derby has been a great opportunity to compete in a German One Loft Race that sits relatively close to their Dutch home base. We hope to achieve more results like this in the future!

Team Eijerkamp-Wolf Clocks 7th Place at the Algarve Pigeons Golden Race 2026

Team Eijerkamp-Wolf has delivered another standout result on the international stage, taking 7th place with our Dutch-bred pigeon NL26-8475899NL26-8475899 at the Algarve Pigeons Golden Race 2026 in Monte Gordo, Portugal. It's a superb achievement in this big One Loft Races with a staggering 7,152 pigeons entered.

Racing Against the Very Best

Hotspot 3 was flown on 28 August 2026 over a distance of 207 kilometers. NL26-8475899NL26-8475899 arrived home just 44 seconds behind the winner, clocking a blistering speed of 1450 meters per minute. In a field of this size, finishing that close to the top is a remarkable feat and a testament to the quality of the pigeon.

A Pedigree Built for Success

NL26-8475899NL26-8475899 is the product of a proven and powerful pairing. The father is NL24-8207496NL24-8207496 "Mr. Bierges," a direct son of our Eijerkamp top breeders Herby"Herby" and Rachel"Rachel". The mother, "Just Romario" DV-02241-24-465, was bred by Simon Wolf and is a daughter of the super OLR breeder Romario"Romario".

This Romario x Eijerkamp cross has proven itself time and again, and in this case it brings together the very best of Heremans-Ceusters and Leideman bloodlines. Top blood combined with top blood and once again, it delivers.
