This weekend brought another challenge as the race scheduled for Saturday had to be postponed to Sunday due to a persistent rain front along the flight path. Our anticipation built as we prepared for the new race day, knowing the pigeons would face varying wind conditions – starting with a northeast wind that would shift to the northwest later in the day.

A total of 57 pigeons were entered for this demanding race, with 25 from Lotte Eijerkamp and 32 from Hans and Evert Jan Eijerkamp. These birds have consistently shown their resilience and determination, and we were eager to see how they would perform under these conditions.

The day started early as we prepared for the release. The wind was expected to be a significant factor, challenging the pigeons to navigate and maintain their strength over the long distance. Despite these challenges, we were hopeful for a successful race and, most importantly, the safe return of our pigeons.

As the day progressed, we closely monitored the race, keeping our fingers crossed for favorable outcomes. The combination of the north and northwest winds required the pigeons to adapt their flight paths and utilize their endurance and navigation skills effectively.

We eagerly awaited the results, knowing that every race brings its own set of uncertainties and triumphs. Our pigeons have been well-prepared and trained for such conditions, and we trust in their abilities to rise to the occasion.

The race from Chimay, Belgium (261 km), took place under beautiful weather conditions. The wind was variable with a slight preference for the east.

Today, on the national holiday in the Netherlands, the race is held from Bierges (187km).
In the morning, we are still waiting for a rain front to move northward.
There is a lot of cloud cover, and the wind is weak from the south (tailwind).
We have a total of 119 pigeons basketed, 65 belonging to Hans and Evert Jan, and 54 belonging to Lotte Eijerkamp.

The last Speed/Natour race of the season from Laon (331 km) was marked by a strong east-southeast wind, with significant gaps at the top of the results. Our old and young pigeons returned home well, achieving again an excellent result within the local federation.

The last young pigeon race from Arcis-sur-Aube (422 km) was marked by a strong east-southeast wind, with significant gaps at the top of the NPO results. Our pigeons returned home very well, achieving an excellent result within the local club. However, due to the wind, we couldn't make a mark in the overall standings in Brummen.

Due to poor weather conditions in France and Belgium, the pigeons were brought back to Bierges (187km).
There was a chance of rain along the way for the pigeons.
We had 102 pigeons basketed, with 45 belonging to Lotte and 57 to Hans and Evert Jan.
