Strong performance against the odds in Semi-National Châteaudun

The Semi-National race from Châteaudun, with a total of 7,204 pigeons competing, started at 06:40 hrs under an east-southeast wind, conditions far from ideal for the Eijerkamp lofts. With 45 pigeons entered, we knew from the start that the wind would heavily favor lofts in the western part of the sector, making it difficult for us here in the east of Section 8.

When the first pigeons were clocked in the west at an impressive speed of 1,253 m.p.m., we realized that matching that velocity would be nearly impossible for our birds flying from the east. But then, at 12:29 hrs, our first pigeon arrived 'Olympic Jozef Junior', just two minutes behind, once again followed by our star hen 'Hurricane Hannah'. After that, it took over 15 minutes before our next bird appeared, a clear sign that these first two were exceptionally early arrivals.

The local result confirmed it: in our own flying area, we claimed 1 - 2 - 4 - 5 - and 6. positions. At NPO level, we began with 5. and 9. against 3,029 pigeons in Section 8. Nationally, our birds placed 28.and 45. against the full field, results we are truly proud of, given the challenging circumstances.

Our first arrival, 'Olympic Jozef Junior' (NL24-8207440NL24-8207440), is a direct son of Olympic Jozef"Olympic Jozef" x 'Indigo',  a promising young cock who has already built a nice record. But once again, it was 'Hurricane Hannah', NL24-8208193NL24-8208193, daughter of Hurricane Hans"Hurricane Hans"' x 'Beauty Present', who underlined her class. With this outstanding performance, she now leads the provisional 1. National Ace World Best Pigeon of the Netherlands in the Middle Distance category, an extraordinary achievement we cherish deeply.

The third Middle Distance race was released late in the morning at 11:15 a.m. in Reims (351 km). Due to low cloud cover, an earlier release was not possible. The route was initially covered with heavy clouds, which later cleared into sunny weather. The pigeons were released with a southeast wind that gradually turned north, while in the Netherlands the wind shifted to the northwest. Team Eijerkamp basketed a total of 116 pigeons: 62 for Hans and Evert-Jan, and 54 for Lotte Eijerkamp.

The first pigeon to arrive was the top hen ‘Breaking Euro’, NL22-8228956NL22-8228956, who was clocked at 16:32 hrs with a velocity of 1,106 m.p.m.

‘Breaking Euro’ is a super hen who has already won 3x 1st prizes. She is a daughter of Flamengo"Flamengo", the outstanding daughter of New Euro"New Euro"

By the end of the day, a fantastic team result was achieved in District Southeast: 6-8-9-10-12-13-15-22-23-32-34, etc., against 4,097 pigeons!

A superb end of the oldbird season winning 1-2-3 Provincial Orleans 573 km. Team Eijerkamp entered 58 pigeons in this national race from the city of Jeanne d'Arc, which were released on Sunday morning at 08:00 hrs.

The first pigeon clocked, winning 1. Provincial, 3. National in Section 3, and 15. National against 9,762 pigeons, is NL24-8207928NL24-8207928, a daughter of Golden Chanty"Golden Chanty" × Miranda.

2. Provincial and 45. National: NL24-8207509NL24-8207509 "Blue Joeri", a son of super breeder Joeri"Joeri" × 'Maniwan', direct from C&G Koopman.

3. Provincial and 68. National: NL23-9100214NL23-9100214 "Aisha", a daughter of the super cock 'Dino' when paired to a granddaughter of 'Special Kain' and 'Manu', the super hen from Koopman.

Team Eijerkamp entered 37 pigeons who were released at 07.30 hrs in this National race with over 22,000 pigeons entered. With the East in the wind we did nt had any change in the National race but in the Section 8 again a superb performance, despite this east wind, for 'Olympic Jozef Junior'. This crack was again superb brought to the race by Oliver Sabol and winning his 2nd TOP 10 NPO result this season after he already won 5. NPO Chateaudun against 3,029 pigeons. 

'Olympic Jozef Junior', NL24-8207440NL24-8207440, is direct son of Olympic Jozef"Olympic Jozef" X Indigo"Indigo" both top racers before and both now proven breeders.

The Speed/Natour race from Hirson (282 km), in which 57 pigeons were basketed, was liberated at 13:30 hrs with a very strong tailwind.

It took the first arriving pigeon, 'Feng Shui' (NL24-8207834NL24-8207834), almost half a minute before she was clocked at 16:05:09, achieving a speed of 1,823 m.p.m. 'Feng Shui' won 2. Regional against 2,337 pigeons as well as 6. Provincial against 9,921 pigeons.

'Feng Shui' is a pure Leo Heremans-Ceusters, bred from 'Deng', son of the Nieuwe Olympiade"Nieuwe Olympiade" and 'Charlotte', the latter being a daughter of breeding ace Herby"Herby"

The 1,765 pigeons in flying Area Southeast were released at 07.15 hrs with a south wind in Hirson (282 km)  and Team Eijerkamp entered 61 youngsters in this race with a daughter of Mr. Expensive"Mr. Expensive" X Flamengo"Flamengo" clocked as first pigeons winning 4. in the Region against 1,765 pigeons. The overall result was 4-15-20-29-32-33-39-54 etc. etc. and 46 prize cards of the 61 pigeons entered in this race

The pigeons were released in Hirson (283 km) at 07:30 hrs with an east-southeast wind. A total of 45 pigeons from Team Eijerkamp participated. The first pigeon to arrive was 'Pikachu', who once again demonstrated her class by finishing 5. in the Southeast district against 1,758 pigeons.

'Pikachu', NL23-9099928NL23-9099928, is bred from 'Pokemon', a direct son of the legendary Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans", when paired with Pretty Lady"Pretty Lady", one of the top daughters of Jackpot"Jackpot"

The mother of 'Pikachu' is 'Bijou', a direct A&B Leideman hen who was also raced successfully in our lofts.

The pigeons had difficulty landing as they were flying extremely high. The first pigeon reached almost 2000 m.p.m. and it was a grizzle widower in the loft of Lotte Eijerkamp; NL24-8207496NL24-8207496 ‘Mr. Bierges’, a son of Herby"Herby" X Rachel"Rachel"

The race from Hirson turned into a true Grizzly Diamond"Grizzly Diamond" celebration at the Eijerkamp lofts. The first four pigeons—arriving wingtip to wingtip—featured no fewer than three direct children of the legendary hen Grizzly Diamond. This exceptional racer boasts two provincial victories on her own record and is a daughter of the titan pairing Viton"Viton" × Daughter Goed Grijs"Daughter Goed Grijs"

Leading the charge were two nestmates, NL25-1094779NL25-1094779 and NL25-1094780NL25-1094780, both from the pairing Mr. X × Grizzly Diamond, taking 1st and 3rd arrivals. The fourth pigeon NL25-1095190 home was another direct descendant, a son of Charley"Charley" × Grizzly Diamond"Grizzly Diamond"

In Region Southeast, the Eijerkamp team opened the results in style: 6-7-8-9-10-13-15-16, and so on, against a field of 1,712 pigeons. A result that once again underlines the exceptional breeding value of Grizzly Diamond and her winning bloodline.

Team Eijerkamp entered 59 youngsters for this race, in which the pigeons were released at 12:30 hrs in Soissons for a distance of 356 km.

The first youngster to arrive once again was NL25-1095265NL25-1095265, a daughter of Dragon Hans"Dragon Hans" x 'Erika' who has now delivered fantastic results three weeks in a row in the Eijerkamp lofts.

After already winning 16. NPO Soissons against 7,056 pigeons and 17. NPO Hirson against 4,270 pigeons, she has now achieved 4. Soissons against 848 pigeons in the Region again.
