In this article, we report on the race from Heusden-Zolder (149km) by the Eijerkamp-Paalman combination.
A total of 102 old pigeons were basketed.
Due to circumstances, including showers, the pigeons were released quite late.
The wind was strong from the northwest at 25 km/h, and the temperature was low at 10°C.
Despite the autumn-like conditions, the pigeons performed well, and in CC7, they started with the 8th prize out of 3,065 pigeons. The prize percentage was 79%.

On this page, we report on the race from Duffel at Eijerkamp-Paalman.
In recent weeks, the performance at the lofts of soigneur Arnold has been exceptional.
The outcome this weekend largely depended on weather conditions, as poor conditions were predicted for Saturday. This led to the cancellation of the first day-long distance race on Thursday.
The sprint race would proceed but from a shorter distance.
Indeed, the conditions were poor on Saturday, so the race was postponed to Sunday. Finally, at 11:15 AM, the pigeons were released with a northwest wind. This wind direction made winning top prizes challenging due to the lofts' location in Laren.
Despite this, the pigeons returned home wonderfully, with two superb hens, "Nika" NL22-8229044NL22-8229044 and "Zoe" NL22-8229093NL22-8229093, leading the way.
Within 10 minutes, 50% of the 84 pigeons that were basketed had returned home.
The following prizes were won: 9, 11, 14, 16, 19, 28, 37, 39, 42, etc., against 3,177 pigeons, with a prize percentage of 71%.
The form is still there, so we look forward to the next weekend with great anticipation.

Last Vitesse Race of the 2024 Season

The final vitesse race of the 2024 season from Charlevilles Meziere, a distance of 297 km, faced some challenging conditions. Due to rain, the pigeons were released late at 14:15. The strong southwesterly wind was unfavorable for the Eijerkamp-Paalman pigeons given the location of their loft, which made achieving top positions difficult. However, such is the nature of pigeon racing.

Entrants and Results

A total of 46 pigeons were entered, with 29 making it into the results list. Despite the challenging conditions, the team secured respectable positions in CC7, competing against 1,165 pigeons:

• Positions: 11, 15, 17, 19, 29, 30, etc.

Notable Performances

The first pigeon to arrive was "Jacomo" NL23-9099786NL23-9099786, a grandson of the Vetblauwe Jackpot"Vetblauwe Jackpot".
"Jacomo" has a history of strong performances, including a 1^st place in Heusden-Zolder against 3,001 pigeons.

Though top positions were elusive this time due to the wind conditions, the consistent performance of the pigeons and the numerous placements in the results underscore the resilience and quality of the Eijerkamp-Paalman loft.

Due to the cancellation of the first day-long distance race because of bad weather, this was the first race in which the Eijerkamp-Paalman combination participated.
The colony of pigeons in their lofts is relatively young, with 24 of the 37 pigeons entered being yearlings.
With the strong southwest wind, high speeds were expected, but the chances of achieving a top placement in the larger competition were slim due to the loft's location.
For the yearlings, the wind was advantageous, allowing them to cover the 568 km without much difficulty.
After 5.5 hours of flying, five pigeons arrived simultaneously, four of which were yearlings a fantastic start to the arrivals.
 
A strong result was achieved with positions 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 26, 29, 43, 44, etc., from Saulieu against 1,097 pigeons, with a prize percentage of 70%.
 
The first pigeon was NL23-9082647NL23-9082647 "Remy".

The second was NL22-8131918NL22-8131918 "Smokey Haas".

NL23-9099735NL23-9099735 "Nina" was the fifth, arriving just 9 seconds after "Remy".
