Strong Start to the Middle Distance Season for Eijerkamp-Paalman from Dizy le Gros

The 2025 middle-distance season kicked off in style for the Eijerkamp-Paalman partnership with the race from Dizy le Gros (356 km). Under near-perfect weather conditions, a total of 17,958 pigeons were released at 07:50 AM. Among them were 85 entries from Eijerkamp-Paalman.

The race winner achieved a speed of 1,264 meters per minute, while the first Eijerkamp-Paalman pigeon clocked in at 1,239 m.p.m. Within 40 minutes, 63 of the 85 pigeons had safely returned to the loft in Laren—an outstanding result for the team.

Leading the way was yearling cock 'Willem', NL24-8189667NL24-8189667, a direct product of two original Willem de Bruijn pigeons, ‘Mr. Exclusive’ x ‘Lady Murphy’. Both acquired during the legendary December 2023 youngbird sale of Willemd de Bruijn for EUR 120,000.-. 'Willem' is the very first youngster bred from this golden pairing. ‘Mr. Exclusive’ is a son of ‘Secretariat’ x ‘Murphy’s Janneke’, while ‘Lady Murphy’ is a daughter of ‘Murphy’s Law’ x ‘Phoebe’, all top names in modern pigeon sport and the true basebirds of the worldfamous loft of Willem de Bruijn.

In Section 9 South, the team secured an impressive series of results: 7, 16, 25, 29, 47, 52, 52, 58, 59, and more against a field of 5,832 pigeons.

The Eijerkamp-Paalman partnership entered all the young birds for the first time in the first Natour race from Kerkrade, along with the old birds that were already sitting on the nest. In this way, 158 pigeons were entered for this 151 km race, which was released on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. with a light north wind. Shortly before 9:30, the first 5 pigeons appeared above the lofts in Laren, and after a brief delay the first pigeon was clocked at 9:29:48, achieving a speed of 1266 m.p.m. Two minutes later the next pigeons arrived, including the first young bird, NL25-1095011NL25-1095011, a direct youngster out of the famous Geeloger"Geeloger"

In the federation CC7 against 2,420 pigeons, a total of 114 prizes were won, starting with 3-5-6-7-8-13-15-16-17, and so on. 55 of the 97 youngsters (57%) won a prize, while 59 of the 61 old pigeons (97%) were also in the prizes.

A great finish to the 2025 season for the Eijerkamp-Paalman partnership as well. The final race was brought forward due to the weather forecast, and the pigeons were released on Friday, September 12, in Dizy le Gros (334 km) at 12:30 hrs with a strong southwest wind. This stormy wind carried the pigeons toward Laren, where five birds arrived together, reaching a speed of 1,939 m.p.m.

The first pigeon on the clock was the yearling NL24-8207649NL24-8207649 ‘Michal,’ bred from ‘Princess Ania,’ who herself was named 5. Provincial Ace Pigeon in the One-Day Long-Distance at the Eijerkamp lofts in Brummen.

The final result in Section 9 South was 3-4-5-6-7, etc., against 2,247 pigeons. It was another fantastic season, and Arnold did an outstanding job, which may even lead to two Olympic pigeons for the Dortmund Olympiad in 2026 !!!!

Section 9 moved the race to an eastern release point due to the east-southeasterly wind, and eventually, the 6,230 pigeons were liberated in Fliessem, Germany, which meant a distance of 241 km for the Eijerkamp-Paalman partnership.

Arnold Paalman entered 50 pigeons for this sprint race, and when the first pigeon was clocked at 10:13, the floodgates opened and the birds arrived like lightning, ultimately resulting in 14 pigeons finishing in the Provincial Top 100: 20-23-25-44-46-48-51-53-56-64-69-79-81-88 against 6,230 pigeons.

The first clocked pigeon was 'Oyen', NL22-8209235NL22-8209235, a granddaughter of Euro"Euro". 'Oyen' had already proven her quality several times before, as she is a half-sister to top hen 'Hello', NL23-9082693NL23-9082693, who has already won 2x 1. prize twice during the 2025 season.

The 8. pigeon to arrive was 'Evelyn', who added yet another 1:100 classification to her already impressive record by finishing 53. Provincial against 6,230 pigeons.

89 pigeons were entered to this race in which 65 prizecards were achieved. The pigeons were liberated in Tienen in which the first pigeons of the race made a speed of 1366 m.p.m. 

The first pigeon of Eijerkamp-Paalman was the 3 years old hen 'Veronique' NL22-7073681NL22-7073681 who made a speed of 1,339 m.p.m. and who finished 1st Club and 15th in the Federation CC7 against 3,163 pigeons.

The final result 15, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 28, 31, 35, 59, 72, 75, 88, 89, 101 etc. in CC7 within Amalgamation 9 against these 3,163 pigeons.
