Due to the hot weather, the short-distance race was shortened to Bierges, while the NPO race from Vierzon was cancelled. Perhaps this was the wrong decision, as the race from Bierges turned out to be a perfect race for all pigeons under ideal conditions, resulting once again in an amazing performance by both Eijerkamp teams.

In the racing area, competing against 2,371 pigeons, the team of Hans and Evert-Jan Eijerkamp once again dominated by winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize. Three pigeons arrived together, with 'Iceman Hans' taking the victory. This grandson of Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans" was clocked just a few seconds ahead of 'Miley' and 'Golden Magic', the outstanding granddaughter of 'Nieuwe Olympiade', who once again secured an early top prize.

In Federation South 1, the team in Brummen, coached by Michal, won 1-2-3 against 1,092 pigeons. Meanwhile, in Federation South 2, the Eijerkamp-Paalman team achieved an impressive 1-2-3-4-5 against 1,279 pigeons, with 'Rienke', a granddaughter of the legendary Euro"Euro", taking the victory.

All together, it was another perfect result for both teams and Arnold and Michal once again did a fantastic job. Thanks, guys!

A Promising Start to the 2026 Young Bird Season

Today marked our first young bird race of the 2026 season, and as every fancier knows, it is always one of the most exciting moments of the year. Before thinking about results, there is only one question on your mind: Will they all make it home safely?

Fortunately, they did! 

We won 1-2-3-4-6-8-11-12-13-14-16-17-18-19-20 etc. against 1.307 pigeons from Reusel 111km. 

We basketed 114 pigeons and we won 88 prizes. 

Even better, our entire team returned quickly, arriving in groups one after another, right in front of trainer Michal. Seeing the youngsters drop so confidently around the loft was a fantastic reward for all the hard work put into preparing them.

Our first arrival was an outstanding granddaughter of our World Best pigeons Zoe"Zoe" × Bor"Bor" (Leideman bloodline). She is bred from our excellent hen Feline NL23-9099766NL23-9099766, and we are incredibly proud to see this family continue to excel.

Zoe not only a superstar herself but also truly a fantastic breeding hen. 

The second youngster home was a daughter of our outstanding breeder Yellow Submarine NL24-8209584, a son of the legendary Geeloger"Geeloger". Her dam is our top hen Maud Febe NL24-8207926, a daughter of the magnificentMr. Expensive"Mr. Expensive", bringing in the renowned Willem de Bruijn bloodline. Maud Febe’s mother is Grizzly Diamond"Grizzly Diamond", an exceptional daughter of Viton"Viton" × Daughter Goed Grijs"Daughter Goed Grijs", one of our very best breeding pairs from the Leideman family.

Our third Youngster NL26-8475022NL26-8475022, was another granddaughter of Geeloger"Geeloger", bred from the same dam, Semerian NL17-1819622, as our outstanding hen Olympic Amber"Olympic Amber"

Once again, our favorite bloodlines are proving their exceptional quality from the very first race of the season. It gives us tremendous confidence for the weeks ahead.

We are incredibly proud of our pigeons today. We won 1. National Sector 4 against 7.438 pigeons and 7. against 36.332 from National Châteauroux 670 km. 

We won 1-3-9-10-13-14-15-19-27-29 etc. against 1.984 pigeons from Chateauroux 670 km. 

We basketed 60 pigeons and we won 50 Prizes. 

Leading the team was Aisha NL23-9100214NL23-9100214, a very special hen and one of Evert-Jan’s favorite. She is a granddaughter of Panamera"Panamera" (Verkerk bloodlines) and represents our treasured worldfamous Koopman and Janssen–Van Loon bloodlines, which continue to prove their exceptional class and consistency.

Aisha already demonstrated her outstanding quality last season by achieving 14th National Ace Pigeon Long-Distance PIPA 2025, confirming her place among the elite long-distance racers.

Our second arrival was Hurricane Hannah NL24-8208193NL24-8208193, Michal’s favorite hen. She is a daughter of the legendary Hurricane Hans"Hurricane Hans" and has already built an impressive record. Last season she was crowned 1st Provincial Long-Distance Ace Pigeon, Section 8 (2025), showcasing her remarkable talent and determination.

Super hen 'Hello' once again proved her exceptional class by taking her third victory in the Middle-distance Grand Prix race from Courtisols for the partnership Eijerkamp-Paalman of Laren.

The pigeons were liberated at 07:30 hrs under high temperatures and a headwind. 'Hello' (NL23-9082693NL23-9082693) was clocked at a speed of 1,161 m.p.m. by Arnold Paalman, who once again showed his confidence in this outstanding hen by nominating her as his first-nominated pigeon among the 54 pigeons entered from Laren.

'Hello' is a granddaughter of the legendary Euro"Euro" being bred from 'Halfbrother Blauwe Jet' × 'Manuela', a direct daughter of 'Euro' paired to a daughter of Nieuwe Olympiade"Nieuwe Olympiade" both Ancestors from the famous Leo Heremans-Ceusters family.

With this latest victory, 'Hello' has now won three first prizes, including:

  • 1. Provincial Marche against 21,572 pigeons
  • 1. Hirson against 3,160 pigeons
  • 1. Courtisols against 1,583 pigeons

On both lofts, the pigeons delivered another outstanding performance in this tough but fair race, flown in high temperatures with a headwind.

In the Middel Region against 1,583 pigeons, the team in Brummand and Laren achieved:
1-3-4-6-8-11-12-13-16-18-19-20-23-24, winning 83 prizes from 114 pigeons entered

In Section East, against 11,547 pigeons, the result was equally impressive:
7-11-17-19-27-36-37-38-47, with 15 pigeons finishing in the first 100

National Issoudun Section 4; 2-3-6-8-12-17-20-39-50-51-58-60 against 4,263 pigeons

The fourth One-Day Long Distance race of the season once again unfolded just as we like to see it. The National race from Issoudun turned into a superb event for the Eijerkamp teams, with no fewer than 7 pigeons finishing in the National Sector 4 Top 20.

The pigeons were liberated at 7:30 a.m. in Issoudun under a moderate northwesterly wind. The distance to the Eijerkamp lofts was 647 km to Brummen and 664 km to Laren, meaning the pigeons faced a flight of well over nine hours. 'Hurricane Hannah', NL24-8208193NL24-8208193, needed just under nine hours, being clocked at 4:25:23 p.m., recording a velocity of 1,208 m.p.m.
It was yet another outstanding performance by this exceptional hen, who has already compiled an impressive list of top results in NPO and National races:

  • 1. Châlons (373 km) against 3,820 pigeons (9. National against 9,606 pigeons)
  • 2. National Issoudun (647 km) against 4,263 pigeons
  • 9. NPO Châteaudun (564 km) against 3,029 pigeons
  • 13. NPO Châteaudun (564 km) against 4,490 pigeons
  • 14. National Châteauroux (671 km) against 7,440 pigeons

At Team H and EJ Eijerkamp our 1. Hurricane Hannah NL24-8208193NL24-8208193, our 2. Hurricane Sara NL25-1095852NL25-1095852 and our 6. Hurricane Indy NL23-9101349NL23-9101349 and at Eijerkamp-Paalman our 1. Blue Hannah NL23-9099768NL23-9099768. 

Hurricane Hans"Hurricane Hans", NL19-1411264NL19-1411264, a son of Olympic Hans"Olympic Hans" and Indy"Indy", was himself crowned 2. National Ace Youngsters NPO in 2019 and is rapidly establishing himself as an exceptional breeding cock. Most of these top performers are bred from the proven Janssen/Van Loon bloodlines, and the first 5 pigeons were crossed with pigeons from the renowned loft of Dolf and Ruud Bakker from Zoelen, originating from their outstanding old Koopman family.

Issoudun was a race to enjoy from start to finish as the pigeons returned home in superb condition, underlining their excellent form, and the team now looks forward with confidence to the final National One-Day Long Distance race of the season from Vierzon in two weeks' time.
