What an unforgettable day for Team H & E.J. Eijerkamp!
The final serious major race of the 2026 season, the National NPO Grand Prix for Youngsters from Pt. St. Maxence, 402 km, could not have ended in a better way. Our young star Silver Steady Euro won the race and gave the team a fantastic closing victory to the season.

Hard work pays off

Behind a great result there is always a lot of hard work, and this certainly applies to our team. Michal works incredibly hard, day and night, and gives everything for the pigeons. Together with Evert-Jan, there is constant communication and discussion about the pigeons, the preparation and the best possible approach to the races. To see all that hard work rewarded with a National Sector 4 victory is something we are extremely happy and grateful for.

During the winter, Evert-Jan decided to pair Steady Euro with Pikachu. It was a beautiful compensation mating. Steady Euro is a considerably bigger and longer cock, while Pikachu is a finer hen. Both, however, had already proven their exceptional quality in the racing lofts of Team Lotte Eijerkamp, Oliver Sabol in Brummen. And now their son has produced the ultimate result. The intelligence, motivation and will to win seem to be firmly anchored in the genes.Pikachu was herself an outstanding racer, winning 10th National Ace Pigeon PIPA Short Distance in 2024.
Her partner Steady Euro is a pigeon of exceptional class. He was:
  • 5th National Ace Pigeon Short Distance NPO 2021
  • 5th National Ace Pigeon Short/Middle Distance WHZB/BoTB 2020
  • 9th National Ace Pigeon Youngsters WHZB/BoTB 2019

Steady Euro therefore achieved a place among the National Top 10 for three consecutive years, something that shows just how special this cock was as racing pigeon. Now, as a breeder, he has once again shown his value.

Born under the care of our Rick
Rick looks after our breeding pigeons with great love and passion. He cared for the parents of Silver Steady Euro, and therefore this winner was quite literally born under Rick’s wings. It is wonderful to see a pigeon from the breeding loft develop into such a successful racer and then produce a result like this.

A very special witness
There was also an extra special moment on this unforgettable day. Hans Eijerkamp, almost 92 years old, was there to witness the victory. To share such a beautiful moment together makes the success even more meaningful.

What a way to finish the season
From the winter pairing of two proven champions, to raising the youngster, preparing him for the races and finally seeing him win the National Sector 4 NPO Grand Prix from Pt. St. Maxence, it has been a wonderful journey. We enjoyed this day enormously!

Marche marked the final race of the 2026 season, and what a spectacular finale it turned out to be for Eijerkamp-Paalman. The team from Laren completely dominated the race, recording an impressive 1-2-3-4-5 against 4,286 pigeons in Flying Area Midden.
The final result was simply outstanding: 1-2-3-4-5-10-19-24-25-27-28-30-31-35-36 against 4,286 pigeons
This meant no fewer than 4 pigeons in the first 1:1,000 and 15 pigeons in the first 1:100,  a fitting conclusion to another highly successful season for Arnold Paalman and the Eijerkamp-Paalman team. Once again, Arnold demonstrated why he has become such a specialist in races up to 450 kilometres. Week after week, his pigeons have shown their quality, and in this final race of the season they saved one of their very best performances for last.

"Borry" completes a remarkable comeback
The pigeons were released in Marche at 11:50, and at exactly 14:15:20 two pigeons arrived together and were clocked in the very same second on the Benzing antennas in Laren. "Borry", NL25-1095008NL25-1095008, was classified as the winner. This cock, a son of Bor"Bor" x Flamengo"Flamengo", has quite a story behind his victory.
During the second race of the 2026 season, "Borry" returned home seriously injured. His racing campaign had to be interrupted while Arnold carefully nursed him back to full health. Eventually, he recovered sufficiently to make his comeback during the Natour races, and what a comeback it has been.
As the ultimate reward for Arnold’s care and patience, "Borry" showed in Marche that he has lost none of his quality. Winning 1. against 4,286 pigeons is a magnificent way to complete his 2026 season, and his performance certainly raises expectations for what he might be capable of in 2027.

Another top youngster from "Neron" x "Sister Lady Roye"
Clocked in exactly the same second as "Borry" was NL26-8475169NL26-8475169, who was classified 2nd against 4,286 pigeons. In the Netherlands there cannot be an equal winner, so when two pigeons are clocked at exactly the same time, their nominated position determines the final classification.
NL26-8475169NL26-8475169 is a young hen bred from "Neron" x "Sister Lady Roye", a pairing that is rapidly establishing a reputation for producing exceptional youngsters. We recently highlighted this very same pair following another victory by one of their youngsters at the loft of Henk Douna from Donkerbroek. Now, with NL26-8475169NL26-8475169 taking 2. prize against 4,286 pigeons at Eijerkamp-Paalman, "Neron" x "Sister Lady Roye" once again underline their value as a breeding pair.

With 1-2-3-4-5 and 15 pigeons among the first 1:100 against 4,286 pigeons, Eijerkamp-Paalman could hardly have wished for a better way to bring the curtain down on the 2026 racing season.
